What is MSM?
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) Although MSM is found in the body tissue and food sources of many species, most diets are lacking in MSM. Using DistilPure™ MSM as a natural MSM supplement will ensure that adequate sulphur is supplied in the diet.
In its purified chemical form, MSM is an odourless, essentially tasteless, white, water soluble crystalline solid. It is one of the least toxic substances in biology, similar in toxicity to water.
MSM Benefits
Some of MSM's essential functions in the body include maintaining the structure of the proteins in the body, helping the formation of keratin which is essential for hair and nail growth, aiding in the production of immunoglobulin which maintains the immune system, and catalyzing the chemical reactions which change food into energy. As a component in vitamins, co-enzymes and antioxidants, it is beneficial for animal hair, skin, hoofs, horns and joints.
Rain Nutrience Ltd sources its raw material, DMSO, from a supplier that has developed a process originating from corn oil and other oil seed crops. This means that our DistilPure™ MSM comes from plant origin as opposed to fossil fuel origin.
Methoxyl groups in this DMSO provide many more health benefits and is much more of an "all-natural" product than other DMSO, most of which is derived as a by-product from the petrochemical industry.
